Description:

Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras is a strikingly dramatic Australian timber with a cream-colored sapwood and wild reddish brown heartwood. It is used for both veneer and lumber and might be at its best when quartered.

*The Australian species shows beautiful spider webbing
*Graining similar to spalting
*Often quarter sawn to enhance figure pattern
*Good furniture wood
